Art Show

Last night was Abigail's Art show at her Mother's Day Out!
She's been coming home the last week or so covered in paint, so I've been waiting anxiously to see her masterpieces!!

She was SO excited to show Daddy "My Art!"

Busy Bag Swap!

My old Mommy and Me group
got together in Dallas last weekend to do a "Toddler Busy Bag Swap"...
Busy Bags to carry with us for our Busy Toddlers. :)

There were 8 of us, so each person made 8 bags of our activity,
and then we each grabbed one!
Now I've got 8 different portable activity bags to take with me wherever needed...
doctor's office, restaurant, car trip, etc.

null

Our kiddos had not seen each other in a long time, so they played hard while all us mommies got to catch up a bit.
They spent some good time jumping in Clark's crib...
Abigail clearly had fun. :)

null

OK so here are the activities everyone made...
Each person just put them in Ziploc bags or in pencil bags.
These were all awesome ideas, (several from Pinterest I'm sure!)

color sorting with paint samples
null

velcro popsicle sticks - can attach and make shapes
null

counting cards - with numbers and dots
null

stencil coloring
null

"build a sandwich" - with fabric pieces and in a sandwich shaped tupperware
null

"button train"
null

felt face with lots of "features" to play with
null

matching animal cards
null

So fun, right?!
I can't wait to use these...they'd even be good rainy day activities,
things to only bust out every now and then to keep it fun.

null

Our littles all had a BLAST together!
They even snored all together in Clark's crib...CUTEST thing ever.

null

the "seconds"...

Abigail and one of her BFF's Maddy "catching up" over some fun toys.

Thanks to Rose for hosting us...
I love all you mamas and cherish you so much!!

*If you have an up-and-coming toddler...I highly recommend making bags like these!
they are seriously life-savers sometimes!*

tu-tus and triathlons

Photobucket

headed to swim lessons...shake that tu-tu girl!!

Photobucket

this past weekend we headed to dallas for a triathlon that Parker and one of our best friends, John, have been training for! Unfortunately we all had the stomach bug last week so Parker wasn't able to participate
(stinks for him after all his training!),
but we went down to cheer on John, this was his first tri and he did great!!

Photobucket

I've blogged about this before, but something in me is SO stirred when
I watch a race of any kind.
The power of all the people racing together after months of training is so moving to me.

(i love that picture on the right, if you look closely you can see the
hundreds of arms swimming in the water.
It is truly amazing to see that at sunrise.)

Abigail got to spend time with her grandparents while we were at the race and
def had a fun time...
putting puppets on her feet as "shoes" and another of my favorite moments:
I asked her to share a (pretend) drink with my parents' dog,
and she disappeared.
I followed her a few moments later to find her play cup in the dog's water bowl.
smart girl!!

Photobucket

just a few more randoms for ya.
and a little bit of reality. :)

Love yall! I have missed blogging and am getting back now!
tummy bugs and traveling has kept me away the past few days but
I look forward to sharing with you this week!

Abigail on Good Morning Texas!

(JUST in case you missed it...)
:) hehe

Here is the video of Abigail and I in a segment on Good Morning Texas,
that aired this morning!
It was about infant water safety and teaching our littles to swim at an early age!

(PS if you are a bloggy friend and don't know exactly what we look like:
I am wearing a black halter swimsuit with black and white print on the edges,
and Abigail is wearing a blue swimsuit with green and white ruffles on it!)

Check it out!
and listen to learn a little bit about water safety...
Starting them young and doing it year-round is key!!
