Pictureless Link-Up!

Pictures help tell stories,
they can add life to our words,
and movement to our thoughts.

but sometimes,
pictures can get in the way
of what we just need to get out onto "paper"
here in blogland.

I know that a lot of us,
like me,
spend time taking, editing, organizing, etc
the "right" pictures for our blog posts!
am I right?

and not to mention,
lots of people who read blogs
(we are all guilty of this)
just peruse the pictures instead of reading the content,
which is usually what we have put the most heart into!

OK, SO...
I have an idea
and Im wondering what you think about it.
{please let me know, for reals.} :)

I'd love to start hosting a link-up.
a PICTURELESS link-up.
Let's take the "stress" out of adding pictures,
and just get it out.
just write. just share.

I think this could be awesome, seriously.

Soooooo...
Im gonna go ahead and do it!!

if you want to join in, or like this idea,
link up with me here
starting next Tuesday, November 8th!

but it'll be the only one) :)

honest reality

reality. vulnerabulity. truth.
BEING REAL.

That's what I desire for my blogging,
for my friendships and community,
for my life.

Let's be honest, most people don't portray outwardly the
reality of what's really going on with them...
in their hearts, in their minds, in their homes.

And I understand that not all in life is to be shared
with everyone who will listen.
But I also believe that sharing reality (as He leads)
can bring LIFE to those around us,
and can help our own hearts too.

Photobucket

Facebook statuses, tweets, a lot of times blogging,
and even conversations with friends,
often depict the "positive" views of our lives.

You don't really want to post a picture of you
in your typical mommy outfit,
(you know what I'm talking about)
or of your house in disarray after a long day,
or of the temper tantrum your child just threw.

Photobucket

Like I said, I recognize that not everything is appropriate
to be shared with the world.
Some things that you are working on in your heart or home are
between you and Him.

My encouragement though, would be to ask Him what in your life might
be beneficial to be shared with others,
to help bring healing and life to them.
and maybe even bring healing to your own heart by sharing it.

Photobucket

I'm no exception.
but here's reality:
I don't do a craft with my child every day.
I don't have a spic-and-span clean house all the time.
I don't eat right a lot of the time, or exercise like I should.
I don't feed my child the "right" things all the time.
{for the most part, I don't even like to cook.}
There are socks and paci's on my floor every day.
I don't shower every day.
I don't vacuum up crumbs from toddler snacks every time they hit the floor.

That's not to say I don't attempt to do these things
{see my "trying to cook" link} :) ,
but let's just be real, they don't always happen.

(like I said, i don't always eat right...)
Photobucket

Reality for me is also this:
I struggle with fear, a spirit that has had a grip on me for a long time.
{though He has delivered me from a lot of it, it is still a daily surrender for me}
I also struggle with complaining a lot,
which actually stems from a root of fear.
I am not the most serving wife for my husband, he deserves a lot more from me.
I'm not a great friend because I struggle with a fear of rejection.
I get angry and disappointed with the Lord sometimes,
when I do not remember all that He has done for us.
Reality is that I MUST be repentant to move forward in healing and in freedom.

Reality is that life is messy.
But even MORE real, is that there is
Freedom amidst our mess.
and I believe that a lot of the freedom and truth we need can come from being REAL.

Photobucket

I am always most encouraged by people who share...
that they also struggle with fear,
or have trouble trusting God with their children.
or that they still grieve the loss of a baby.
or that they are just tired of life.
Because we've all been there.

As a friend posted about recently,
I desire to live having no apologies for
sharing what God is doing.
(as He leads me to share).
no apologies for living differently than others.
no apologies for sharing reality and not just a pretty picture.
no apologies for being real,
and pursuing the freedom God has for me.

I'm a day late,
(reality is that yesterday I was too exhausted to blog) :)
but Im linking up today with some amazing ladies
over here:

Punkie Day!

Photobucket

not much to say for this post,
except...
Is SHE not the most BEAUTIFUL Pumpkin?!

Photobucket

Abigail was super excited to be a "punkie",
its been her favorite part of the Fall so far, seeing pumpkins everywhere.

Photobucket

We had to miss out on trick-or-treating while
she is finishing a battle with a bad tummy bug, :(
...but the night before we made her wear the costume
to have a little photo sesh.

Photobucket

hope you had a great Punkie Day!

I am taking the day to rest and recoup after a long weekend of dealing with a sick baby girl,
but there's lots to share this week,
lots on my heart.

And thanks to my new friends and followers - it means a lot to me to "meet" you and I look forward to this
journey of life and blogging together!

BLESSINGS and be safe tonight and tomorrow as you celebrate
Pumpkin Day!

{hopefully you will get a glimpse tomorrow of my precious
Pumpkin in her costume, if she's feeling up to it!}

Photobucket

this time last year . . .

Wahooo!
{that's what my little says when she's excited about something!}
so WAHOOO it is today . . .
Just wanted to do quick little intro to me and my blog,
for those that may be new, and to my "old" new friends too!

Photobucket

I'm Wahooing because Im linking up with some ah.ma.zing

I'm Sarah, and I am SO happy to get to know some new friends!
Parker is my precious husband and we
have been through LOTS together,
celebrating 8 years of marriage last summer.
lots of ups and lots of downs.
but BLESSED indeed.

God graced us with our sweet {and spicy} Abigail Joy
on Christmas Eve of 2009.
She is the LIGHT and JOY of our lives.
She keeps the spunk alive for sure. :)

Photobucket

the pic above is from Halloween-time last year...
{btw, my last year's ladybug will reveal her costume for you in a few days....stay tuned!}

This time last year, we lived in a different state,
my husband had a different job,
I was still adjusting {was?} to newmommyhood,
we were dependent on the Lord for ALL
(I mean to. the. penny) our financial provision.

This time last year {actually exactly one year ago today},
we found out we were pregnant with #2
And we found out 3 weeks later that it had gone Home to be with it's Maker.

This time last year,
I didn't know what blogging really was.

Photobucket

Since this time last year,
some things have changed, and some haven't, and I am
grateful for both.

We are still dependent on the Lord to provide for us.
We are adjusting to life in a new state with new friends and no family.
I am still adjusting DAILY to mommyhood.
And now toddlerhood. {yikes!}.

AND we are expecting another little princess,
due 10 weeks from today! {insert "wahooo!}

(thats me at about 28 weeks, and then me and A at the hospital getting the baby monitored,
finding out my bad cramping was due to an infection, but all is ok now. And A held my hand through it all.)
Photobucket

And since this time last year,
I discovered the blessing blogging has been in my life.
I thought it was just going to be a way to "keep the masses" of our family and close friends
up to date with our life.

but it is SO. MUCH. MORE.
{if you are part of this link up, then you probably already know that.}

I do blog to update and inform our family of what's happening.
but I also blog to share what God is sharing with me.
to share life with others.
to be encouraged by others.
to be blessed and to {hopefully} bless.

Photobucket

All that to say...
I hope you will stop by again, and I look forward to meeting you too!
Check out past posts, recent posts, and the buttons on the side over there,
to learn more about my little corner here in blogland.
or shoot me an email and introduce yourself!

I do hope you come back, I am already blessed to know you . . .

for reals. :)
