incredible friends...

This week, it hit me how blessed I am to have some amazing friends.
Truly they are some of my very best friends.
Friends I met though blogging.
Friends who I spent one of the best trips of my life with last Fall.
(and no, we had never met each other!)
Friends who I share life with.
Friends who make me laugh pretty much daily.
like pee my pants laugh.
Friends who all text each other so much that people's phones die.
(seriously.)
Friends who encourage each other.
Friends who dream about yummy food together. We even have a pin board together.
full of food ideas. haha
Friends who ask for prayer for each other DAILY.
We do life together. the good, the beautiful, the hilarious, and the hard.

whew. I could write about these ladies forever and ever.
But I really just want y'all to go know their hearts yourself.
So, if you don't know them already...
go bless yourself. :)

what they need to see is what I need to see

Photobucket

It's these beautiful eyes that need me.

They need to see my leading and my guidance.
They need to see my strength and my courage.
They need to see me be brave.
They also need to see me being real.
They need to see when I cry sometimes.
They need to see me pray.
They need to see me love on my husband.
They need to see me let loose and sing a silly song.
They need to see my love for them in my own eyes.

Photobucket

It's for His glory that I get to be what they see.

And it is not just for their benefit, but for mine, that they need me so much.
Because it makes me need to see Jesus more.

It makes me need to see HIS strength, courage, bravery, vulnerability, and love.
Because I am like a little one, needing to see all of that too.

a word from the Lord...

My prayer for you today is this...

that you would rest in knowing who is in control of your life.
that you would trust Him with it all, whatever it is.
that you would be confident, because He is in charge.

relationships, family, finances, friendships, jobs, whatever.
He really can take care of it all for you.
He wants to.
Quit fighting for control.
Let Him.
it's HIS job.

He wants to control it because He loves you.
He wants to have a relationship with you.
A true friendship.
Being in relationship with Jesus is NOT about religion.
Has nothing to do with it, actually.
It has nothing to do with church, with small groups, with rules, or doing "what's right".

It's about a love between two people.
A trusted relationship that provides all you would ever want and need.

He wants that with you.
He wants that with me.
I need it. badly.

{I desperately do not want to be in control anymore..
It's too much to try and handle on my own.}

May you see today that there is a person who wants to handle it all for you.

some fun side by sides...

I realized after the snow pics I just took of the girls, that I had similar ones from when Abigail was Bethany's age...
so I had a little fun putting them side by side!

They look so alike and so different all at once!
these two melt me...

unexpected snow

Photobucket Photobucket

I looked at my phone this morning to find a "winter weather advisory" alert.
I thought to myself "no way"... because it was literally almost 70 degrees here yesterday!
But then I looked out the window to see everything covered in white!!

needless to say, we had a fun (and COLD!) morning in store...

Hope you are making the most of whatever your day has brought you today...
blessings friends!
